UAE announces the closure of schools on Thursday and Friday

The government has said that the safety and security of all people in the emirate must be ensured.

In view of the disaster caused by the rains, the UAE has announced the closure of schools on Thursday and Friday.

Schools and colleges have been directed by the Emirati government to organize remote learning, roads around educational institutions are to be completely rehabilitated.

The Dubai Tram service and Metro service have been fully restored however a few Dubai Metro stations are still closed but bus service is being provided.

The Emirati government advises the public to use the metro service to travel within Dubai. Similarly, several highways in Dubai have been reopened while alternative travel routes have been provided.

The UAE government has said that passengers should travel with information from the Road and Transport Authority’s website, still avoid unnecessary travel.

Hamdan bin Mohammed approves measures to mitigate the effects of severe weather in Dubai

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, has said that under the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the city will respond effectively to any challenge.

Highlighting Dubai’s strong crisis response mechanisms, he said that Dubai’s preparedness has been further strengthened by the strong support of the government and the community.

He approved measures to immediately mitigate the effects of severe weather in Dubai which were formulated in a recent meeting with heads of government agencies.

Under the guidance of Sheikh Hamdan and the supervision of Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management, Dubai Government teams, supported by community volunteers, are actively working to address the challenges immediately.
